OUR PHILOSOPHY

We teach four things, in this order: safety, confidence, fun and skill. Children learn best when they feel safe and enjoy themselves — so our lessons are energetic, playful and encouraging, and built on a curriculum with real structure behind it.

Our approach to safeguarding

The welfare of your child is our paramount concern. Bluefin has a full Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, grounded in Malaysian law and aligned to Swim England best practice. All our staff are recruited safely and background-checked, briefed on safeguarding, and required to report any concern about a child’s welfare. We have a Designated Safeguarding Lead, and our Safeguarding Policy is available on request.

Parents watch from the designated viewing area rather than poolside, so coaches can work without distraction. We ask that no one photographs or films other people’s children.

Bluefin follows a British-influenced Learn to Swim programme built on the BLABT progression — Buoyancy, Legs, Arms, Breathing, Timing — aligned to Swim England’s National Plan for Teaching Swimming and British Swimming’s Long-Term Athlete Development model.
Bluefin has a full Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy grounded in Malaysian law and aligned to Swim England best practice. All staff are recruited safely and background-checked, briefed on safeguarding, and required to report any concern about a child’s welfare. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Sam France.
Bluefin coaches record every skill after every lesson in the Bluefin app, marked as Taught, Developing or Mastered. Parents can follow their child’s progress and awards at any time, and a child moves up a level only when every skill in that level is mastered.
Look for small class sizes, a documented curriculum aligned to a recognised standard, qualified and background-checked coaches, a clear safeguarding policy, and a way of showing you your child’s progress. Bluefin teaches in classes of no more than six, follows a Swim England-aligned programme, and records every skill in an app parents can see.
