At Bluefin Watersports Sdn Bhd ("Bluefin", "we", "us", "our") we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights, when you visit bluefin-watersports.com, use the Bluefin app, or take part in our swimming programmes. We handle personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia) (PDPA).

Because we teach children, most of the information we hold is about a child (the swimmer) and is provided by their parent or guardian, who gives consent on the child's behalf.

1. Who we are

Bluefin Watersports Sdn Bhd operates learn-to-swim and swim-team programmes at Sungai Buloh (IGBIS), Semenyih (Tenby Setia EcoHill) and Damansara (St Joseph's). If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at contact@bluefin-watersports.com or +60 11-2317 1026.

2. Information we collect

• Parent/guardian details: name, email, phone number, billing address.

• Child (swimmer) details: name, date of birth, age, gender, swimming level and progress records.

• Health & medical information: medical conditions, allergies or physical limitations you tell us about. This is sensitive personal data and we collect it only to keep your child safe.

• Payment information: billing details processed securely through our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers ourselves).

• Account information: username and password for your account and the Bluefin app.

• Booking & attendance: class preferences, schedules, attendance and lesson notes.

• Photographs and videos: images of participants during activities (see section 5).

• Usage & technical data: IP address, browser type, and pages visited, to keep the website working and secure.

3. How we collect it

We collect information when you sign up or book on our website, complete our forms, use the Bluefin app, or communicate with us in person, by phone, email or messaging. Our website also uses cookies (see section 10).

4. How we use your information, and our basis for doing so

We use your information, with your consent, to:

• deliver and manage swimming lessons and track each swimmer's progress;

• keep participants safe and meet our safeguarding responsibilities (this is why we need any health information);

• manage bookings, payments and your account;

• communicate with you about your bookings — confirmations, changes, cancellations and reminders;

• send newsletters or promotional material only if you have opted in;

• improve our website, app and services; and

• comply with our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

5. Photographs and media

We may take photographs or videos of participants during activities and use appropriate images to promote Bluefin (for example on our website, app and social media). If you do not wish your child to appear in any media, tell us in writing at contact@bluefin-watersports.com at any time and we will not use new images of your child from that point. You can also set your media preference in your profile in the Bluefin app.

6. How we share your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We keep it confidential and only disclose it where necessary to run our service or where the law requires. This may include:

• our payment provider, to process payments;

• the software platforms that run our service — our booking/app platform (Glide) and cloud storage (Google) — which host your data on our behalf;

• the partner school or venue where your child's lessons take place, where sharing is necessary to deliver or supervise the activity;

• professional advisers (such as accountants), and authorities or regulators, where required by law.

We require these providers to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

7. Storing and transferring your data

Some of our providers (such as Google and Glide) may store or process data on servers outside Malaysia. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we take reasonable steps to ensure it continues to receive a level of protection consistent with the PDPA.

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above and to meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it. (Typical retention: for the duration of your relationship with Bluefin plus 7 years for financial/legal records)

9. Keeping your information secure

We use reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights under the PDPA

You have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and your child;

• correct it if it is inaccurate or out of date;

• withdraw consent or limit how we use your data, including opting out of marketing at any time (click "unsubscribe" in our emails or contact us);

• ask us to delete data we no longer need; and

• make a complaint if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.

To exercise any of these, log in to your account or contact contact@bluefin-watersports.com. Please note that withdrawing consent for essential information (such as health details) may mean we can no longer safely provide lessons. If we cannot resolve a concern, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Commissioner, Malaysia (JPDP).

11. Children's data

Our services are for children, and the personal data of a child is provided and consented to by their parent or guardian. If you believe we hold a child's data without the proper consent, contact us and we will address it.

12. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies to keep the site working, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used. By continuing to use the site you consent to our use of cookies. You can adjust or block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some features may not work as a result.

13. Third-party links

Our website or app may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
